Polychromatic Lesson 4 – Watercoloring with Similar Colors

Hello & Welcome back for another ACEP project.

Today’s lesson is all about how you can use multiple colors within (or close to) the same color family to create a card.

This can be a powerful way to add contrast to an image by simply selecting a good grouping of light and dark

Tips for making this technique

  • When selecting your colors for this type of coloring effect, make sure they are closely related, such as pink and yellow (warm colors)
  • Heat embossing the outlines of your stamped image will help control where your colors are and make sure that they don’t blend into each other when you do not want them to.
  • As you stamp images with embossing ink, it is helpful to apply your powder over each image as you stamp. Because the ink is white , it can be difficult sometimes to see where the stamped image is. Having the powder over each image as you stamp other images will give you a guide for the rest of your stamping.
