3 Ways to Make Slimline Envelops | NO DIES NEEDED
Before I show you how to make a slimline envelope let me give you the dimensions of some envelopes you can find in stores that might be suitable for this greeting card template. These are so-called standard envelopes (commercial, business, official).
Standard envelopes for Canada and the United States
- # 9 (Also known as A – long slimline ): 3 7/8 ″ x 8 7/8 ″ (9.8 cm x 22.5 cm) – These envelopes are increasingly popular for cardmaking. I myself chose these dimensions to make my envelopes.
- # 10: 4 1/8 ″ x 9 1/2 ″ (10.5 cm x 24.1 cm) – They are very popular and easily accessible. Personally, I find them a bit too big for my card size.
Standard envelopes for Europe
- DL (EA5 / 6): 4 3/8 ″ x 8 5/8 ″ These are the most popular standard envelopes in Europe.
- C5 / 6: 4 1/2 ″ x 9 ″ These are more popular in Belgium.
In summary the # 9 envelopes are the ideal envelopes for slimline cards measuring 3 1/2 ″ x 8 1/2 ″. For the manufacture of a slimline card you can refer to my article “ A slimline card , an original format “.
